Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The Maintenance/Facility Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the facility & production floor have adequate and functional equipment to run production. Reporting directly to the Maintenance/Facility Manager, the Maintenance Technician ensures that all aspects of maintenance, repair, & facility care are carried out efficiently, in compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. The role is responsible for adherence to food safety and quality protocols.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Support & Collaboration
- Ensure that fellow co-workers are adhering to company policies and procedures, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and providing corrective actions as necessary.
- Assist the Maintenance/Facility Manager in ensuring proper employee shift management, minimizing excessive overtime and increasing efficiency.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Performs technical & mechanical work on the physical aspects of the building, ground, amenities, common areas & exterior property.
- The Maintenance/Facility Technician is responsible for attending to maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
- Completes documentation/paperwork in a timely, accurate & completed manner so that service requests can be appropriately documented & tracked.
- Maintains company equipment by completing minor repairs to (but not limited to) pallet jacks, forklifts, metal detectors, product processing equipment, product sealing equipment, sauce hoppers etc.
- Responsible for assisting the Maintenance/Facility Manager is assessing equipment ensuring proper function.
- The Maintenance/Facility Technician will take additional maintenance related projects as assigned by the Maintenance/Facility Manager.
Quality and Safety Management
- Uphold and enforce company Food Safety/Quality Protocols and Procedures at all times.
- Inspect and monitor production equipment & tools to ensure that all equipment meet the required specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance & inspections of equipment and report any issues to the Maintenance/Facility Manager in a timely manner.
- Ensure all production documentation is properly completed and maintained in line with company SSOP/HACCP plans.
Equipment and Maintenance:
- Monitor the production floor for any issues with equipment performance and promptly report any maintenance or repair needs to the Production/Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure that the production area is clean, well-maintained, and free from safety hazards, adhering to workplace cleanliness and safety standards.
- Reports any pest control issues to the Quality Assurance Manager in a timely manner.
Leadership Skills
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains and provide feedback and recommendations to the Maintenance/Facility Manager.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and resolve any cross-departmental issues.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement on the production floor by actively engaging with team members and promoting the sharing of ideas to optimize performance.
- Communicate effectively with your employees, supervisor & management team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle documentation & accurate reporting.
