Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician – Interior Apartment Renovations

Monday-Friday - 8am start

Job Description

This role focuses on interior apartment renovation and maintenance work, with a strong emphasis on electrical tasks. You will perform hands-on repairs and upgrades in occupied and vacant units, including plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and finish work. The position runs Monday through Friday, full-time during daytime hours, and offers a temp-to-perm pathway based on satisfactory performance. You will use your technical skills and troubleshooting ability to ensure apartments are safe, functional, and finished to a high standard while providing courteous, customer-focused service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical work in interior apartment units, including wiring, troubleshooting, repairs, and finish work in accordance with safety standards and best practices.
  • Carry out general maintenance and renovation tasks such as plumbing repairs, carpentry work, and drywall installation and patching.
  • Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues in apartments, using effective troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Complete interior renovation tasks to prepare units for occupancy, ensuring all work meets quality expectations and established timelines.
  • Use and maintain most or all tools listed on the Apartment Reno – Interior Tech Tool List to perform daily tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Interact with residents, building staff, and other stakeholders in a professional, customer service–oriented manner, clearly communicating status of work and any required follow-up.
  • Document work performed and communicate any additional repair or renovation needs to the appropriate team members.
  • After hire, participate in an on-call rotation for one week at a time, responding to maintenance issues and emergencies as required.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and guidelines while handling electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and drywall tasks.
  • Support a clean and organized work area within apartments and common spaces, ensuring minimal disruption to residents and daily operations.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience with interior apartment renovations, including exposure to occupied and vacant unit work.
  • Strong electrical skills, including wiring, troubleshooting, and finishing electrical tasks in residential settings.
  • Proficiency in general maintenance work, including plumbing repairs, basic carpentry, and drywall installation and repair.
  • Ability to use and maintain most or all tools listed on the Apartment Reno – Interior Tech Tool List.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance and repair issues efficiently.
  • Customer service–oriented mindset, with the ability to interact professionally and respectfully with residents and colleagues.
  • Willingness and ability, after hire, to participate in an on-call rotation for one week at a time.
  • Capacity to work full-time during daytime hours, Monday through Friday (approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working as a maintenance technician or similar role in residential or multifamily housing environments.
  • Background in finish work, including completing repairs and renovations to a high standard of appearance and functionality.
  • Comfort working across multiple trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall) and adapting to varied tasks throughout the day.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with residents, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance, supporting the potential transition from temporary to permanent employment.

Work Environment

You work full-time in a residential apartment setting, primarily focused on interior units. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the expectation that you will join an on-call rotation for one week at a time after hire. The environment involves hands-on use of a wide range of tools from the Apartment Reno – Interior Tech Tool List and frequent movement between units and building areas. You perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and drywall tasks in occupied and vacant apartments, maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor while interacting with residents and staff. The work is active and requires attention to safety, quality, and cleanliness in each unit you service.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
