Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime. This role supports production operations by maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation (CMMS experience preferred)
- Assist in equipment installation, upgrades, and modifications
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and production issues
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, and troubleshooting techniques
- Experience with PLCs, motors, conveyors, and industrial equipment preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Basic computer skills; CMMS experience is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Skills & Competencies
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability
- Knowledge of electrical systems (480V, single & three-phase preferred)
- Welding and fabrication experience (preferred)
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
Work Environment
- Industrial/manufacturing setting
- Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
- May require lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods
