Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Compensation: 100-115k

Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all production machinery, equipment, and facilities within an automotive manufacturing plant to ensure maximum operational uptime and efficiency. This role requires a combination of technical expertise in areas like robotics, PLCs, and hydraulics, strong leadership skills, and strategic planning abilities to manage budgets, staff, and maintenance operations.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate maintenance staff, including technicians and supervisors, and manage their workload and priorities.
- Maintenance Strategy: Develop, implement, and optimize both preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize breakdowns and maximize equipment uptime.
- Operations Management: Oversee all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring machinery is in optimal working condition, and manage both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, and ensure the department meets all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Budget and Inventory: Manage the maintenance budget, control costs, and oversee the inventory of spare parts and materials to ensure availability when needed.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate and manage all external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services.
- Equipment and Systems: Ensure the upkeep of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and robotic systems used in the manufacturing process.
- Performance Tracking: Track and analyze maintenance data to identify trends, troubleshoot problems, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other departments, such as production and engineering, to support production goals and integrate changes from new equipment or product modifications.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment, ideally automotive.
- Strong technical background in industrial maintenance, including knowledge of robotics, PLC controls, and hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Expertise in developing and managing maintenance budgets and inventory.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is often preferred, though experience may substitute for education.
