Job Description
The Maintenance Area Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating maintenance activities within the plant production area assigned. This includes ensuring the efficient use of resources, coordinating preventative maintenance and repair work, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role is vital in maintaining the operational efficiency of the equipment in the Unit Area assigned to reduce downtime and optimize performance in a safe manner.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities for production equipment, machinery, and unit area systems.
- Create, assign, and monitor work orders to ensure timely completion of maintenance requests.
- Track maintenance schedules, equipment history, and service records within the maintenance management system.
- Collaborate with maintenance technicians, production teams, and supervisors to prioritize maintenance activities and minimize operational downtime.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs, inspections, and maintenance projects.
- Assist in troubleshooting efforts by gathering information, documenting issues, and supporting maintenance personnel in identifying root causes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of preventive maintenance programs.
- Serve as a point of contact for maintenance-related inquiries and provide updates regarding work order status and equipment availability.
- Maintain effective communication across departments to support productivity and operational goals.
- Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in maintenance coordination, facilities maintenance, manufacturing, industrial operations, or a related field.
- 3-5 Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (SAP) preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities (example: functional, technical and managerial)
- Strong organizational, planning, and scheduling skills.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, pipefitting, electrical, instrumentation, and facility maintenance practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of inventory control and purchasing processes.
- Understanding of OSHA and workplace safety requirements.
