This role is part of our Space and Launch business, which has contributed to the nation’s space programs for decades by delivering complete solutions from concept to flight. We enable successful space operations with mission-critical technology supporting every step from first launch to final landing, including launch vehicle subsystems, propulsion systems, aerodynamic and interstage systems, and payload protection and deployment. You will lead facility and equipment maintenance operations to ensure all manufacturing assets, tools, and infrastructure remain safe, reliable, and compliant. By managing preventive maintenance programs, coordinating repairs, and overseeing safety and regulatory requirements, you will help sustain operational continuity, support manufacturing productivity, and maintain a safe, well‑functioning work environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment, tooling, and facilities remain in safe operating condition.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment in alignment with internal safety standards.
• Manages and updates Maintain X or equivalent maintenance management software.
• Leads training and ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and internal safety procedures.
• Coordinates maintenance activities, assigns work to maintenance personnel, and verifies timely, accurate task completion.
• Manages repairs of manufacturing equipment, tools, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines.
• Coordinates external supplier support for repairs requiring outside services.
• Maintains City, County, State, and Federal permits related to facility operations.
• Facilitates audits and inspections from OSHA, fire, State/Federal agencies, insurance representatives, and municipal authorities.
• Ensures proper reporting and record maintenance related to environmental, health, and safety (EHS), hazardous waste, and quality management system (QMS) requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Detail-oriented, highly organized, with strong communication skills.
• Working knowledge of heavy manufacturing equipment and machinery repairs.
• Experience in repairs of tools and manufacturing equipment as determined by Karman.
• Experience monitoring preventive maintenance programs as determined by Karman.
• Minimum five years of facility and supervision experience.
• Working knowledge of computer numerical control (CNC) machines and ability to perform repairs.
• Strong background in machine maintenance and manufacturing safety.
• Working knowledge and experience with Maintenance X or equivalent software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of plant layout and installation of equipment and machinery.
• Working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety (EHS), hazardous waste, safety applications, and training to safety standards.
• Familiarity with quality management system (QMS) reporting, record keeping, and following instructions.
• Familiarity with statutory and regulatory regulations in building, grounds, and machinery record maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in electrical and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) repairs and new installations.

Physical Requirements

• Constant standing, walking, or sitting for at least 8 hours.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 lbs., minimum 35 lbs.
• Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
• Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less; corrective lenses may be worn to fulfill requirements.
• Prolonged periods of repetitive movement required.
• Constant holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hands.
• Occasional extending of arms to reach overhead, at shoulder level, and below shoulder level. The essential functions of this position must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Special Mentions

• Travel between local Karman sites may be required.
