General Maintenance Technician
Location: Greenville, SC 29615
Shift: 1st Shift | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Schedule: Monday–Friday; hours may vary based on customer demand
Pay Rate: $24.00–$26.00/hr.
Job Summary
seeking a 1st Shift General Maintenance Technician III for our facility maintenance team The General Maintenance Technician III is responsible for providing advanced levels of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on industrial or commercial general facilities and utility systems and equipment, including but not limited to plumbing and mechanical equipment, motors, pumps, piping, drains, and other equipment as directed.
Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in performing and responding to work orders associated with building equipment.
- Inspect major equipment and/or operating systems and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Plumb pipes of several different types and sizes, including:

- PVC
- Copper
- Black pipe
- Threaded pipe
- Ensure all appropriate mechanical operations, standards, controls, and specifications are maintained at a high level of quality.
- Work with systems and equipment including:

- Pumps
- Fans
- Cranes
- Heat exchangers
- Valves
- Other related mechanical equipment
- Work within the context of a team and, at times, with minimal supervision.
- Ensure excellent customer service and a safe work environment.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Minimum Requirements
- High school graduate or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance and plumbing.
- Hands-on experience in the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical building systems.
- Systems experience should include areas such as:

- Plumbing
- Steam and hot water boilers
- Air handling units
- Pumps
- Compressors
- Air dryers
- Exhaust systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Friendly, cooperative, customer service-minded attitude and ability to work as a team player.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office software, including:

- Excel
- Word
- PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
- Ability to read and understand repair manuals and drawings.
- Ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and initiate repairs.
- Experience working with and understanding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions.
- Apply proper safety practices and follow procedures while performing maintenance tasks.
- Some travel may be required.
Additional Requirements
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
- Valid driver's license required.
- This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
- Ability to obtain a security access badge at the client's location.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
- May require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during the shift.
- Bend/stoop and squat repetitively during the shift.
- Kneel repetitively during the shift.
- Move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis during the shift.
- Stretch/reach on a repetitive basis during the shift.
- Walk extensively throughout the plant during the shift.
- Use a company/client-approved utility knife.
- Differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
- Perform tasks requiring repetitive wrist movement.
- Interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Special Requirements
- Wear steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
- Cope with demands and stressors associated with the job and/or work environment while maintaining acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution.
