This Director of Residential Landscape Maintenance role oversees the growing division, driving the overall client experience and production operations for high-end properties. The Director serves as the senior point of contact for key clients, bridging the gap between client needs and successful field execution. The primary objective is to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction, profitable growth, and seamless project delivery while initially taking a hands-on approach to field oversight and client relations.
Based in Westfield, New Jersey, this established design-build landscape firm caters to high-end residential clients. The company boasts a collaborative, creative culture. It is an exciting time to join this growing company as they transition to new industry-leading Aspire software and expand their highly specialized maintenance division.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall client experience and build strong relationships by meeting with homeowners to review property health and service performance.
- Direct daily production activities and oversee a team of six maintenance professionals across mowing, fine gardening, and enhancement crews.
- Drive sales growth by leading the renewal, upselling, and expansion of services to existing residential maintenance clients.
- Coordinate the seamless transition of sold projects from the design and sales teams into field production.
- Develop team performance by establishing clear expectations for quality, providing hands-on coaching, and ensuring safety protocols are met.
- Manage the allocation of equipment and resources while establishing proactive maintenance practices to minimize downtime.
- Analyze key performance indicators and implement operational improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience managing teams, projects, and client relationships within the residential landscape or fine gardening sector.
- Extensive horticultural expertise, including deep knowledge of plant identification, specific pruning techniques, and fine gardening standards.
- Demonstrated ability to grow revenue through client retention, upselling, and exceptional customer service.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively translate highly detailed client preferences to field crews.
- Familiarity with landscape business management software; experience with Aspire and/or LMN is highly preferred.
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the willingness to be hands-on in the field during the initial growth phases.
Compensation & Benefits
- Target compensation of $100,000 (+/-).
