Maintenance Technician – 3rd Shift | Direct Hire | Byron Center, MI | $23–$29/Hour
Reliance One is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Byron Center, Michigan. This position is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and experience supporting manufacturing equipment, robotic cells, and stamping presses.
Position Details:
• Direct Hire Opportunity
• Location: Byron Center, MI
• Pay Rate: $23–$29/hour
• 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Workweek: Sunday night through Friday morning
• $1.00/hour shift premium
• $1,000 sign-on bonus
• PTO available upon hire
• Benefits available after 30 days
• Overtime opportunities currently available
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
• Perform preventive, routine, and emergency mechanical and electrical maintenance
• Diagnose equipment failures and troubleshoot issues to minimize production downtime
• Repair, install, modify, and rebuild manufacturing machinery and equipment
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including 480V and control wiring
• Troubleshoot and maintain robotic cells and stamping presses
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals
• Fabricate and repair machine components using lathes, mills, drill presses, welders, and other equipment
• Utilize testing equipment, precision measuring tools, powered hand tools, and welding equipment
• Support equipment installations, modifications, and continuous improvement projects
• Test equipment following repairs to ensure proper and safe operation
• Maintain accurate work orders, repair records, and maintenance documentation
• Coordinate with maintenance personnel across shifts to ensure work is completed
Required & Preferred Qualifications:
• Industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with 480V electrical systems and control wiring strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of robotic cells and stamping presses
• Journeyman status or equivalent experience preferred
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
• Experience with welding, machining, fabrication, and industrial maintenance tools
• Must have a complete set of trade tools
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain and maintain required powered industrial truck certification
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of industrial maintenance, including lifting 60+ pounds and working at heights
The ideal Maintenance Technician is a strong troubleshooter who can diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, work independently, and respond quickly when equipment problems impact production.
