Seabury Custodians are highly rewarded! We are searching for enthusiastic, caring team members for our Continuing Care Community. The ideal candidate will have at least 6+ months experience in a similar position working with commercial cleaning machines and equipment.
Hours: 20 hours a week, 5pm-9pm
Position Requirements:
- Ability to read, speak and understand the English language clearly.
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of housekeeping and maintenance procedures, practices, safety regulations and guidelines.
- Working knowledge of floor and carpet maintenance equipment.
- Courtesy and cooperation in dealing with residents and staff.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, lift, or push for majority of the day in order to perform functions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs cleaning of assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods:
1. Wet-mops and dries floors.
2. Polishes of brass rails.
3. Vacuums carpets.
4. Shampoos and extracts carpets.
5. Washes walls, ceilings, lights and windows.
6. Assists Housekeepers with semi-annual apartment/cottage cleaning.
7. Removes and disposes of trash, as needed.
8. Responds to emergency clean-up requests.
9. Observes and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, and/or building.
10. Recycling - collects glass and cardboard from residents’ apartments and brings to recycling barrels.
11. Cleans recycling barrels.
12. Observes and reports the needs of the residents in regard to safety issues to the Director.
13. Understands and supports the mission and philosophy of the facility.
14. Conveys a professional and caring image.
