Property Services Technician
Boston, Massachusetts
About the firm
Our client is a long-established Northeast general contractor with more than thirty-five years building in the region. Their work runs from luxury urban residences and fine suburban custom homes through to large, technically complex institutional and commercial projects. They build new, and they convert, renovate and restore.
This role sits in the firm's Property Services Division. Where most builders hand over the keys and move on, Property Services looks after homes the firm already has a relationship with, diagnosing and resolving building issues, running renovations and smaller custom projects, and staying in front of the homeowner throughout. It is a division built on long client relationships rather than one-off jobs.
The role
Hands-on work across residential property management and maintenance, rough and finish carpentry, and punch list services, on luxury homes in Boston and its immediate suburbs. You diagnose what has gone wrong, you fix what you can, and you bring in and manage the trades for the rest. The firm is growing and says plainly there is room to advance.
Responsibilities
- General residential maintenance and home repair across a portfolio of luxury homes.
- Carpentry from frame to finish.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall assemblies, high-end finishes, millwork, appliances and the exterior envelope.
- Facilitate and manage third-party vendors so maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs are executed properly.
- Conduct and monitor preventative maintenance on trades and systems.
- Deliver world-class service to clients in their own homes.
- Meet policy, procedure, safety and compliance expectations on every visit.
- Escalate up the chain of command when a problem warrants it.
What we are looking for
- General residential maintenance and home repair experience.
- Carpentry, frame to finish.
- General knowledge across the technical trades listed above.
- Able to complete physical tasks in a construction environment.
- Comfortable working from an iPhone for work orders and documentation.
- Available for on-call shifts and emergency response.
- Reliable transportation is a plus.
- A strong sense of urgency, and initiative and accountability on assigned tasks.
- Resourceful in troubleshooting, and able to act confidently and decisively.
- Based in or relocating to Boston or its immediate suburbs.
