Qualifications:

High school diploma preferred

Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, and heating and air-conditioning

Licensure or certification in any of these areas is preferred
Job Requirements:

Physically and mentally capable of performing routine job duties
-
Good problem-solving and trouble-shooting abilities
-
Personable with residents, families, and staff in a professional and cooperative manner
-
Compassion, tolerance, and understanding for the elderly and mentally ill
-
Ability to lift, push, pull, move equipment, supplies, linens, etc. in excess of 50 pounds as required
Main Duties:

Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives
-
On-call 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to troubleshoot emergencies and urgent repairs
-
Assist in maintaining and documenting hot water checks in residents' rooms, baths, showers, and general hot water sources

Ensure proper maintenance and running condition of all electricity and plumbing in the facility

Assist in maintaining and running condition of all equipment in the building

Assist the Director in observing periodic inspections and performing repairs outside the scope of housekeeping
