Job Description

Job Description

Two buildings, 108 neighbors, and a front office where every day is a little different. If you can turn a stack of HUD paperwork into a tidy file before lunch and still have time to chat with a resident in the hallway, we would love to meet you!

Community Housing Services is a Utah nonprofit working toward a world where everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, has access to safe, affordable, dignified housing. We have been at it since 1995. We are hiring an Assistant Property Manager to join the team at Capitol Villa, a community for seniors.

Capitol Villa, at 239 West 600 North in Salt Lake City, is 108 one-bedroom apartments in two three-story buildings, with mountain views, a resident lounge with a full kitchen, and a neighborhood library within walking distance.

• Be the Property Manager's right hand, and step in to run the property when they're away

• Interview applicants for housing and help them through move-in, following HUD and CHS requirements

• Prepare and verify HUD 50059 certifications and HAP requests

• Keep accounting forms and reports accurate and on time

• Help plan resident meetings, social activities, and community events

• Organize resident volunteers and keep track of their hours

• Welcome residents, vendors, and visitors, and pitch in on work orders when needed

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Three years as an Assistant Property Manager or in a similar affordable housing role

• Customer service skills that hold up when things get complicated

• Clear writing and speaking

• Comfort with computers, reports, and recordkeeping

• Care with confidential resident and applicant information

Bonus points for

• Fair Housing experience

• ADA and reasonable accommodation experience

• HUD 50059 and HAP experience

The work itself

Mostly desk and computer work, with regular walks around the property to visit with residents and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.

Pay and schedule

Pay: $21.75 to $24.00 per hour, depending on experience

Status: Full-time, hourly

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
