What You'll Do:
As a Service Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the community. In a nutshell, you'll:
- Maintain the exterior grounds daily to ensure curb appeal and a clean and welcoming environment
- Assist with the make-ready process to prepare apartments for new residents
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in common areas and throughout the property
- Respond to service requests in a timely and professional manner
Other duties may include:
- Make and/or assist with general appliance repairs, carpet repairs and minor A/C and electrical repairs.
- Perform and/or assist with carpentry work, painting and plumbing duties as required.
- Install appliances and electrical fixtures as required.
- Move appliances, with assistance, using appliance dolly.
- Install, repair and rekey deadbolt locks.
- Provide painting assistance as required.
- Handle designated service requests as requested or required. Promptly notify of any delay due to the unavailability of parts.
- Assist maintenance in maintaining a clean and orderly shop/work area.
- Participate in an ongoing community improvement plan and preventive maintenance program.
- Adhere to and comply with company safety policies and rules and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed and recommended. Adhere to OSHA safety standards that are applicable for the safe performance of job.
- Report any damage or safety hazards immediately to the supervisor.
- Maintain a professional appearance while being courteous and having a helpful demeanor with owners, residents, prospective residents, coworkers, vendors, etc.
- Participate in company training classes/courses and meetings as required.
- Perform all other duties assigned by Service Manager and Property Manager (or other personnel acting in a supervisory capacity).
What You'll Need to Succeed:
We're looking for someone with a solid foundation in maintenance and a willingness to grow. Ideally, you bring:
- General knowledge in a variety of skilled trades, including construction, repair, drywall, basic carpentry, and make-ready work
- At least 1 year of experience in property maintenance or a related field (preferred)
- A high school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Effective communication skills-able to interact professionally and clearly, both verbally and in writing
- A positive attitude, reliability, and a team-first mindset are just as important as technical skills
- Ability to have a flexible schedule and can be on call as needed
