Position Purpose:
The Maintenance Supervisor leads and coordinates the day-to-day activities of a maintenance technician team, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of facility equipment at the Eagan plant. This role emphasizes proactive maintenance strategies to maximize uptime and optimize equipment performance while fostering a strong safety culture and team development. This position works 6am-6pm on a rotating 4 on/4 off schedule at a 24x7 operating plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and model a Safety First culture by ensuring safe work conditions, proper PPE usage, compliance with OSHA and company standards, and active participation in incident reduction and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings and maintain effective shift-to-shift communication to review safety, priorities, work assignments, and ensure seamless operational handoffs.
  • Develop, assign, and communicate maintenance schedules and priorities in coordination with production, planning, and operations teams to maximize plant reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop maintenance technicians by reinforcing safety expectations, craftsmanship standards, precision repair techniques, and preventive maintenance best practices.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of workmanship by auditing completed work, verifying adherence to technical specifications, and recognizing exceptional performance.
  • Monitor preventive maintenance execution, equipment condition, and work progress through routine plant inspections, while ensuring housekeeping and safe work practices are maintained.
  • Manage work order processes within CMMS (Mainsaver), including prioritization, status tracking, and accurate documentation of labor, parts usage, and completed work.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate shift reports and communicate operational, maintenance, and scheduling needs to key stakeholders.
  • Conduct failure investigations and root cause analyses, implement corrective actions, and share lessons learned to improve equipment reliability.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction, waste elimination, and operational efficiency using Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Partner with Planner/Scheduler and Reliability teams to optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs, improve job planning and estimates, address spare parts issues, and enhance maintenance effectiveness.
  • Respond promptly to emails and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform any other duties requested by management


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school minimally required
  • 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience with heavy industrial equipment (furnaces, pumps, valves, conveyors, blowers, screws, hydraulic/pneumatic systems)
  • Technical proficiency with CMMS
  • Ability to read and work with PLCs (e.g., Wonderware)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities; adaptable to changing priorities
  • Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and lean/six sigma methodologies
  • Ability and willingness to work overnight shifts, weekends, and provide on-call coverage as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of previous work experience in a supervisory role strongly preferred, but not required
  • CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or equivalent preferred, but not required
  • Technical proficiency with Mainsaver preferred, but not required



Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to wear a full-face respirator mask directly against skin (e.g. clean shaven if applicable), work in a hot/high temperature production facility, and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willingness and ability to comply with safety protocols and company-provided decontamination measures which include utilizing private shower facilities upon leaving the plant environment with or without reasonable accommodation



Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range: $88,054 - $140,655. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive plan which is determined by the achievement of strategic objectives. The market rate for the role is typically at the midpoint of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as candidate qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
