Facilities Manager – Sandusky, OH
Our Top Client is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead operations in a critical facilities environment.
Role Overview
The Facilities Manager will coordinate and supervise 24x7 operations of one or more facilities. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep field experience, strong operational judgment, and the ability to lead teams independently. Ideal candidates have extensive experience in facilities operations and can mentor technicians and tradespeople effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all mechanical, electrical, and energy management systems within a critical environment.
- Ensure strict adherence to change control processes (development, approvals, execution).
- Hire, train, and manage site operations personnel.
- Lead preventive, contracted, and general maintenance programs.
- Review and approve MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, and change requests.
- Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships and support customer tours, fit outs, and sustainability initiatives.
- Assist with OPEX and CAPEX budgeting and cost tracking.
- Act as first responder during site emergencies.
- Maintain inventory controls and purchasing of parts and supplies.
- Serve as the primary technical authority for the facility.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly manage Leads, CFTs, and CFMTs, including:

- Scheduling
- Time & attendance
- Performance management
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive responsibility in building systems and critical facilities.
- Professional licenses preferred (electrical and/or mechanical).
- Ability to interpret AutoCAD, Visio, and technical documentation.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of codes, laws, and regulations related to MEP operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Occasional travel may be required.
