About the Role:
Manna Of Life Ministries Inc is looking for a compassionate and driven Housing Specialist to join our team in the Bronx, NY. Responsibilities:
Required Experience
Qualified candidates should have experience with:
DHS requirements, procedures, and housing-related documentation
- CARES database navigation and documentation
- Housing searches and permanent housing placement
- Housing applications and supporting documentation
- Rental assistance and housing subsidy programs
- CityFHEPS and Section 8
- Landlord and broker engagement
- Apartment viewings and housing inspections
- Housing eligibility and client documentation
- Tracking housing applications, placements, and outcomes
- Working with individuals and families experiencing homelessness
- Assess client housing needs and develop individualized housing plans to support stability and self-sufficiency
- Connect clients with affordable housing resources, rental assistance programs, and community services
- Coordinate with landlords, property managers, and housing agencies to secure appropriate placements
- Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and client records in compliance with program requirements
- Advocate on behalf of clients navigating housing applications, waitlists, and eligibility processes
- Conduct follow-up visits and check-ins to ensure housing retention and ongoing client support
- Collaborate with internal staff and external partners to provide wraparound services
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in housing case management, social services, or community outreach
- Knowledge of NYC housing programs, HUD regulations, and affordable housing resources
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-centered approach
- Ability to manage a caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, given the Bronx community served
