Job Description:
- Support daily property operations, including leasing, resident relations, and administrative functions; provide leadership in the absence of the Property Manager.
- Perform all leasing activities, including marketing, responding to inquiries, conducting tours, qualifying prospects, and closing leases.
- Process applications, verify applicant information, and maintain accurate records in property management systems.
- Collect rent, deposits, and fees; post transactions and manage delinquency, including late notices and eviction coordination.
- Promote resident retention by managing renewals, addressing concerns, and delivering excellent customer service.
- Coordinate and participate in resident events and support company culture initiatives such as Open Arms.
- Conduct move-in/move-out inspections and report maintenance needs, safety concerns, and curb appeal issues.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable housing laws, including Fair Housing, ADA, and FCRA.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support business operations.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED and 1-3 years of experience in customer service, sales, and/or leasing required
- Valid driver’s license from the state of residence
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) and/or NALP credential strongly preferred
- Property Manager License preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting practices
- Knowledge of property management business procedures
- Customer service skills and conflict resolutions skills to overcome objections and resolve issues
- Organizational skills to maintain records and schedules
- Knowledge of apartment management laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels
- Sales knowledge, skills and abilities to sell products and services to new and existing customers
- Ability to visually inspect units, grounds, and other aspects of the property to determine adherence to standards
- Skill and ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn and operate AppFolio.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain appropriate discretion
