Job Title: Maintenance Electrician / Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Electrician / Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial electrical and mechanical equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role interprets work instructions, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and specifications to perform scheduled, emergency, routine repairs, calibrations, and preventative maintenance, ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Responsibilities
- Receive and review work instructions, wiring diagrams, blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine required tasks, tools, and procedures.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, routine service, and calibrations on industrial electrical and mechanical equipment to maximize uptime.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to diagnose and resolve equipment issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and components, including 480-volt motors, control boards, and related equipment.
- Repair, rebuild, and test electrical components and assemblies to verify proper operation before returning equipment to service.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics to identify faults, plan repairs, and guide troubleshooting activities.
- Perform mechanical repairs and adjustments on equipment such as overhead cranes, shears, and rollers as needed.
- Use mechanical benders and other tools to install or modify conduit and wiring in accordance with electrical diagrams and safety standards.
- Apply lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures consistently to ensure a safe working environment during maintenance activities.
- Inspect overhead cranes and related systems, identify issues, and perform repairs to maintain safe and reliable operation.
- Collaborate closely with team members to complete maintenance tasks in a coordinated and efficient manner.
- Document work performed, including repairs, parts used, and observations, to support ongoing maintenance planning and equipment reliability.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability and communicate recommendations to the team.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or maintenance electrician in an industrial environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Hands-on experience working with 480-volt electrical systems and motors.
- Demonstrated proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, repair, and testing of industrial equipment and components.
- Experience repairing and maintaining overhead cranes and related equipment.
- Working knowledge of both electrical (approximately 70%) and mechanical (approximately 30%) maintenance tasks.
- Solid understanding of safety practices, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Ability to use mechanical benders and related tools to install and modify electrical conduit and wiring.
- Competence in repairing and maintaining equipment such as shears, rollers, and control boards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex equipment issues under time constraints.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a collaborative, industrial setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience performing preventative maintenance programs in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with calibrating and testing electrical components and systems.
- Comfort working around overhead cranes and heavy industrial machinery.
- Ability to interpret and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment reliability and safety.
- Willingness to support both electrical and mechanical tasks as needed to assist the team.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Milton, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
Great benefits package - Health, vision, dental, 401k with match, profit sharing, monthly and yearly bonuses, 10-12 paid holidays, and 3 weeks of PTO
