Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
This role is a hands-on maintenance technician position supporting a clean, quiet, and temperature-controlled manufacturing facility. There is one opening on 2nd shift (3:30 PM – 1:00 AM) and one opening on 3rd shift (8:30 PM – 6:00 AM). Each technician uses an individual tablet to manage work orders and documentation. Approximately 50–60% of the role involves responding to operator calls and quickly resolving equipment issues. The position focuses heavily on electrical troubleshooting, PLC work, and maintaining robotics, cameras, and vision systems, along with general mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to operator calls, diagnosing and resolving equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot Allen Bradley and Omron PLCs, including plugging in, adjusting timers, and performing minor program edits as needed.
- Repair and troubleshoot cameras and vision systems to ensure accurate and reliable operation.
- Work with 3-phase and single-phase motors, performing troubleshooting, repair, and replacement as required.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints for electrical cabinets to guide installation, repair, and modification work.
- Perform minor in-house fabrication for electrical cabinets, including layout, assembly, and component installation.
- Support Fanuc and Motoman robots by rehoming, setting points, and starting up robots to maintain proper operation.
- Replace sensors and vision system components, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting on systems up to 480V, including PLCs, robotics, and associated controls.
- Perform both mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment, including blow molding, extrusion, and related machinery.
- Use schematics to diagnose electrical issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Carry out preventive maintenance tasks on equipment to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Work with hydraulics and pneumatics systems to troubleshoot and maintain equipment performance.
- Utilize mills, lathes, and other machining tools as needed to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Document maintenance activities accurately using a tablet-based work order system, ensuring clear records of repairs and inspections.
- Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and production staff to prioritize work, share knowledge, and maintain safe operations.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with a strong focus on electrical work.
- Demonstrated strength in electrical troubleshooting, including working with 480V systems.
- Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, including troubleshooting and minor program edits.
- Hands-on experience with Omron PLCs, including troubleshooting and minor program edits.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair cameras and vision systems used in production environments.
- Proficiency working with 3-phase and single-phase motors, including diagnosis and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and blueprints for electrical cabinets and control systems.
- Experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance on industrial equipment such as blow molding and extrusion machinery.
- Familiarity with Fanuc and Motoman robotics, including rehoming, setting points, and robot startup procedures.
- Solid understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial setting.
- Competence in preventive maintenance practices to improve equipment reliability.
- Ability to use mills, lathes, and machining tools to support maintenance and fabrication tasks.
- Comfort working with tablet-based systems for work orders and maintenance documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- No formal education requirements; candidates from a variety of educational backgrounds are welcome.
- No specific certifications required; practical industrial maintenance experience is highly valued.
- Experience in blow molding, extrusion, and machining environments is beneficial.
- Experience with robotics in manufacturing, including Fanuc and Motoman systems, is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively on 2nd or 3rd shift as part of a multi-technician maintenance team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with operators and fellow technicians.

Work Environment
Maintenance technicians work on 2nd shift (3:30 PM – 1:00 AM) or 3rd shift (8:30 PM – 6:00 AM), alongside a team of approximately 15 maintenance technicians, with three technicians on 2nd shift and two on 3rd shift. Each technician is equipped with a tablet to manage work orders and documentation. The environment includes industrial equipment such as blow molding and extrusion machinery, robotics (Fanuc and Motoman), PLCs (Allen Bradley and Omron), cameras, and vision systems. Uniforms are furnished at no cost, and employees receive an annual $150 allowance for work boots, supporting a practical and professional dress code suitable for industrial maintenance work.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $60320.00/yr.
Vacation begins accruing from day 1 and there are 10 paid holidays throughout the year
