BG Staffing is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician for an exciting opportunity with a multifamily housing community in Lorain, OH 44052. This position is ideal for a maintenance professional who can work independently, manage service requests efficiently, and deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring the property remains safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will have previous apartment maintenance experience and be comfortable performing a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks throughout the community.
Position Overview
As an Assistant Maintenance Technician (Non-Certified), you will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the property. You will be responsible for completing work orders, assisting with apartment turns, troubleshooting maintenance issues, and helping prepare units for new residents. Your contributions will directly impact resident satisfaction and the overall appearance of the community.
Key ResponsibilitiesWork Orders & Resident Service Requests
- Complete maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Respond to resident maintenance requests with excellent customer service
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and provide effective repair solutions
- Maintain accurate communication with property management regarding completed tasks and ongoing projects
General Maintenance Duties
- Perform basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, sinks, toilets, and minor drain issues
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting and complete minor electrical repairs
- Diagnose and repair household appliances
- Complete carpentry projects and minor construction repairs as needed
- Repair drywall, patch holes, perform touch-up painting, and handle general upkeep tasks
- Replace fixtures, hardware, and various building components
- Ensure all repairs are completed safely and meet community standards
Unit Turns & Make-Ready Preparation
- Assist with apartment turns and prepare units for incoming residents
- Complete punch-list items and quality inspections
- Help ensure vacant apartments are move-in ready and meet property expectations
- Support the maintenance team with property improvement projects as needed
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following:
- Previous apartment maintenance experience required
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance functions and apartment operations
- Experience with plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, drywall, carpentry, and general repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a fast-paced workload
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Own tools required
