Summary:
Position is responsible for maintaining peak operating conditions and efficiencies for all manufacturing equipment. Performs preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment, as assigned, utilizing electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical trouble shooting techniques and equipment. Assists with trouble shooting of equipment and/or facilitation of external repair resources to ensure the timely repair of down equipment. Performs general facility maintenance activities as required.
As required, documents and records facility maintenance, compliance, safety and reporting of materials and chemicals within the site. Performs these requirements in compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory mandates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on all production machines assigned. Must follow all manufacturers’ operation manual specifications, drawings, sketches, and engineering specifications to perform work and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Install, repair, adjust, and monitor the operation of the manufacturing and facilities equipment, as directed.
- Requisitions repair or replacement parts, supplies or external repair technicians as needed through the proper ordering procedures.
- Environmental health and safety. Follow and enhance policies and procedures in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental engineering and/or hazardous material transportation.
- Complies with OSHA/company safety and health guidelines.
- Support all corporate and site 6S objectives.
- Meet all training requirements and timelines as they become announced.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated Electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair knowledge and experience.
- Must possess strong communication skills (both written and oral).
- Must be able to interpret technical data and apply to repairs / prevent breakdowns.
- Must be able to troubleshoot, evaluate, repair, and recommend cost savings programs to minimize downtime.
- Detail oriented with ability to communicate effectively.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to multi-task with a strong sense of urgency, ability to meet deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Basic mechanical drawing.
- Ability to interpret specifications, schematics, drawings.
- Computer skills including MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word.
