Position Summary
The Manager/Assistant Manager oversees daily operations, ensures an exceptional customer experience, supervises staff, manages equipment and facility maintenance, and helps drive efficiency and growth. This position plays a key role in delivering a high‐quality laundry environment and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe space for guests.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage day‐to‐day operations of the laundromat including opening/closing duties.
• Provide outstanding customer service — greet guests, assist with machines, resolve issues.
• Supervise, train, and schedule attendants.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and inviting store environment.
• Monitor and maintain commercial washers, dryers, vending machines, and payment systems.
• Coordinate repairs and vendor service calls when needed.
• Manage inventory and reorder supplies (soap, vend products, parts, cleaning supplies).
• Control cash handling and reconcile payments when applicable.
• Monitor business performance metrics including turns per day and machine uptime.
• Support customer loyalty programs and marketing initiatives.
• Enforce health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
Qualifications
• High school diploma required — college preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer‐service skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot laundry equipment.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‐paced, hands‐on work environment.
• Availability on weekends and evenings as needed.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift moderate weight.
• Bilingual English/Spanish very desirable.
• 3+ years’ experience managing a fast paced, high volume, customer service-oriented business preferably in service or retail setting. Laundry or hospitality experience a plus.
• Proven experience in managing the financial health of a retail operations including but not limited to P&L oversight, driving revenue and managing costs.
• Proven ability to create an inclusive and dynamic team and work environment. Proactive, self-starter who can work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Solid business acumen
• Proven ability to recruit, motivate, train and retain a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
