Title: Master Mold Technician
Location: South Elgin, IL 60177
Hire Type: Direct Hire

Hourly Pay Rate: $32-$45/hr
Work Schedule: 4 x 10s - Tuesday - Friday 6am - 4pm.
Job Summary:
- Coordinate mold samplings with the Sample Technician and plant personnel.
- Utilize scientific molding principles to develop and document robust processes that can be replicated under normal production conditions.
- Create Molding Process Instructions for each mold, detailing setup procedures, processing requirements, auxiliary equipment needs, and any special instructions for producing high-quality parts.
- Assist Manufacturing during initial mold startup to ensure process capability; collaborate with the Plant Manager to resolve any issues.
- Troubleshoot process, machine, and auxiliary equipment problems, implementing changes to ensure quality and minimize downtime.
- Stay updated on advancements in molding technology, auxiliary equipment, and robotics; provide training as necessary.
- Identify opportunities to enhance productivity and reduce waste, defects, etc.
- Attend and actively contribute to Project Team meetings, ensuring adherence to "design for manufacturing" principles for mold and part designs.
- Collaborate with Quality and plant teams to investigate defect causes and implement effective process improvements.
- Travel as needed to troubleshoot tools at domestic and offshore tool shops.
- Promote a culture of safety by adhering to policies and setting a positive example.
- Maintain 5S standards and cleanliness in the Sampling Room.
Qualifications:
- A-level Molding Technician certification or equivalent with strong processing skills and understanding of Decoupled 2 molding theories.
- Minimum 90% score on the Master Mold Test.
- Successful completion of "On the Job" Decoupled Two molding tests at home and external plants.
- Recertification every two years required.
- Passing grades in all required Paulson and RJG courses (Decoupled 2/eDart).
- High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift 55 pounds regularly and stand/walk for an entire eight-hour shift.
