Position Type: Temporary / Contract
Department: Facilities Maintenance
Schedule: Generally Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; shift work and alternate hours may be required depending on assignment
Assignment Duration: Approximately two (2) months, subject to operational needs

Position Summary

The Temporary Facilities Maintenance Worker provides skilled and general facilities maintenance support on an as-needed basis. This position may support multiple maintenance areas based on operational requirements, work assignments, and the worker’s demonstrated skills and experience.

The successful candidate must be dependable, safety-conscious, capable of following instructions and established procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities may vary according to the specific maintenance assignment and operational needs. Duties may include:

  • Provide temporary labor and maintenance support within Facilities Maintenance operations.
  • Perform assigned maintenance-related duties within areas for which the employee has the appropriate experience, knowledge, and technical skills.
  • Assist with multiple facilities maintenance activities as directed by the assigned supervisor.
  • Follow work instructions, established procedures, safety requirements, and policies and guidelines.
  • Properly use assigned equipment, tools, materials, and other resources required to complete assigned work.
  • Report to the designated work location on time and remain available for the duration of the scheduled assignment.
  • Communicate maintenance concerns, work-related issues, or conditions requiring supervisory attention.
  • Accurately complete and submit required timesheets and other assignment-related documentation.
  • Maintain satisfactory job performance throughout the temporary assignment.
  • Perform other facilities maintenance duties within the employee’s qualifications and assigned scope of work.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must:

  • Possess the education, work experience, knowledge, and technical skills appropriate for the assigned maintenance position.
  • Have relevant facilities maintenance or related work experience appropriate to the specific assignment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Be capable of performing assigned work in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Successfully complete required screening and skills evaluation processes.
  • Maintain any required licenses, certifications, or medical certificates applicable to the specific assignment in good standing.
  • Be dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work effectively under supervision.

Screening Requirements

As a condition of assignment, candidates must successfully satisfy applicable pre-employment screening requirements, which may include:

  • Verification of identity and aliases.
  • Employment history verification.
  • Education verification.
  • Criminal background investigation.
  • Verification of applicable licenses and certifications.
  • Knowledge and skills evaluation/testing appropriate to the assigned maintenance area.
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company requirements.


Physical and Work Environment

The specific physical requirements and working conditions will depend on the facilities maintenance assignment. Candidates should be prepared to work in an operational facilities maintenance environment and perform the physical functions associated with their assigned duties.
