St. Thomas' Property Manager

St. Thomas' seeks a person who is knowledgeable about maintaining building and grounds, can problem solve, works well with others and takes initiative. The Building Superintendent requires administrative and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with hands-on responsibility for keeping the building clean, including restrooms, trash removal, and daily sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming. Good people skills and the ability to handle different kinds of personalities are essential. Under the direction of the Rector, the Building Superintendent will cultivate a welcoming and safe work environment for the parish members and community at large. By participating in regular consultations with the Rector, staff meetings and volunteer property committee chair, this person will share in the leadership of the parish by way of administration, hospitality, and professionalism. This position is key to a healthy functioning parish and staff wellness.


This is a salaried position - 40 hours per week.


Oversee, manage and implement all property related activities, including but not limited to:

  • Building maintenance including small repairs, painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
    • Maintenance of property-related equipment
    • Skillsets include proper use of tools, ladders, etc.
  • Provide complete cleaning services for the building and outside property
    • Includes cleaning of restrooms, trash and garbage removal, and sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming throughout the building
  • Oversee and/or implement set-up of rooms for special events based on requests.
  • Monitor, report and resolve any property issues that impede the functioning of a clean, healthy property environment – inside and outside, as well as safety protocols of the property
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to schedule repairs, inspections, and upgrades in a timely manner
  • Contact for property related outside services
  • Obtain, manage, and communicate all property related quotes
  • Manage annual property contracts:
    • Snow removal
    • Lawn mowing
    • Landscape
    • Other
  • Possess basic computer and email skills
  • Effectively schedule and follow through on projects.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers regarding property issues and activities.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Rector as needed.
  • Possess good communication and people skills
  • Be on call for issues that happen outside normal working hours
