Job Description

Facilities Lead (Kansas City-Hybrid)

At Edelman Financial Engines (EFE), our purpose is to guide people with the financial advice they need to thrive.

We believe that every dollar saved represents a lifetime of hard work and aspirations, and every dollar invested has job to do for our clients. That’s why we are committed to managing our clients’ investments by truly understanding them as people first and then delivering advice, strategies and solutions to help them feel confident about the plans they are making, whether for today, tomorrow, or in the great unknown future. Our goal is to build long-term relationships based on respect, integrity, and a belief that our responsibility is to help people make smart investments decisions in every stage of their lives.

Our culture is grounded in our CORE values: Client First, One Team, Respectful Candor, and Endless Curiosity. These values guide everything we do, for our clients and each other. We are committed to moving forward together. If you are inspired by purpose-driven work and a collaborative, values-led culture, we invite you to explore a career with us.

This position provides Facilities support services to the Kansas City office and to branch locations across the country. The role operates in a dynamic, service‑oriented environment and requires strong organizational skills, effective time management, independent thinking, and a high level of personal accountability.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys problem‑solving, working with people, and seeing tasks through to completion. This role focuses on coordinating, troubleshooting, and resolving facilities‑related issues—not hands‑on building engineering, plant operations or core building infrastructure issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands‑on resolution of Facilities service tickets on a first‑in, first‑out basis, while maintaining focus on priority items
  • Support a wide range of facilities activities, including:
    • Furniture moves and office reconfigurations
    • Coordinating of painting, cleaning, and minor maintenance
    • Employee onboarding and offboarding support
    • Issuing and managing access control badges
    • Tracking HVAC Preventive Maintenance at locations where it’s a Tenant responsibility
    • Other facilities‑related projects as assigned
  • Communicate regularly with the Corporate Facilities Director to review ticket volumes, priorities, and active issues
  • Interface with building Property Management teams to address landlord‑responsible items and ensure timely resolution of issues requiring a 3rd party vendor to resolve
  • Coordinate with outside facilities contractors and service providers to maintain office equipment and address repair needs
  • Participate in special projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting an office environment in a facilities, operations, administrative, or customer service capacity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated follow‑through
  • Customer service background strongly preferred
  • Proven record of punctuality, reliability, and accountability; this role supports staff across the organization and is highly service‑dependent
  • Ability to think critically, troubleshoot issues, and exercise sound judgment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to perform basic facilities tasks as needed, including lifting, carrying, and moving light furniture or equipment, and using basic hand tools

Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $65,400 - $87,200. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions.
