Job Description

About the Role

We're a food and beverage processing facility in Newman looking for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician who can keep our plant running. This is a hands-on role for someone who can diagnose a problem on their own and fix it — not just work off a PM list. If you're the person people come find when a pump is making a noise or a line goes down mid-run, we want to talk to you.

You'll work across mechanical, electrical, steam, refrigeration, and fabrication systems, so breadth matters here as much as depth.

What You'll Do

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial pumps and motors — both centrifugal and positive-displacement
  • Service bearings, seals, couplings, belts, and chain drives
  • Operate and maintain boilers and steam systems, including steam valves, regulators, steam traps, and condensate systems
  • Work on pressure and temperature controls and perform basic burner troubleshooting
  • Maintain and troubleshoot industrial chillers — compressors, pumps, expansion valves, and controls — by reading pressures, temperatures, and electrical inputs
  • Troubleshoot 480/240/120V industrial electrical systems, motors, motor starters, relays, contactors, and sensors
  • Weld and fabricate as needed (MIG required) for repairs and equipment modifications in carbon and stainless steel
  • Keep process equipment running: vacuum systems, steam chambers, filters, conveyors, valves, and instrumentation
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Respond quickly to production breakdowns and get lines back up safely
  • Follow all plant safety procedures, including LOTO and boiler safety device checks

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or processing plant
  • Mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting ability
  • Boiler and steam system experience
  • Chiller and refrigeration experience
  • Welding and fabrication experience — MIG required
  • Ability to read and work from mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment, including safe multimeter use
  • Comfortable working around rotating equipment, steam, compressed air, and industrial machinery
  • Available for overtime and breakdown response
  • Dependable and consistently on time for scheduled shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • TIG and stick welding
  • Refrigeration certification or boiler operator experience
  • Experience in food, beverage, or agricultural processing
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment

Schedule

Day shift, Monday through Friday. Overtime and on-call breakdown response are part of the job — equipment doesn't always fail during business hours.

Physical Requirements

Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces, and work in a plant environment with heat, noise, and moisture.

Benefits

Medical / dental, PTO, 401(k) (no contribution)

We are an equal opportunity employer.
