Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in keeping a high-volume distribution center operating safely and efficiently. In this role, you perform preventive and predictive maintenance on a wide range of equipment and systems, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and support facility upkeep to minimize downtime and maintain smooth operations.
Work Environment
This role is based in a fast-paced distribution center environment focused on safety, reliability, and teamwork. The standard schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 12:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with overtime available before or after the shift as needed to support operations. You work directly with industrial equipment such as conveyor systems, robots, motors, VFDs, belts, chains, box cars, and adapter cells, using CMMS tools and technical documentation to guide your work. The facility emphasizes adherence to OSHA regulations and safety standards, with a hands-on, collaborative atmosphere where maintenance and operations teams work closely to keep systems running efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on distribution center equipment and systems to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
- Maintain and service conveyors, sortation systems, dock equipment, palletizers, and other material handling systems.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential maintenance issues before failures occur.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
- Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to complete work orders and accurately document maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and all applicable safety standards during maintenance and repair work.
- Assist with facility maintenance projects, including lighting, plumbing, and general building repairs.
- Collaborate with operations teams to improve equipment reliability and support production efficiency.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and enhancing overall operational performance.
- Work with and maintain equipment such as box cars, adapter cells, robots, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), belts, and chains.
- Perform general mechanical work and systematic troubleshooting on distribution center and conveyor systems.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Menomonie, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
