Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to help keep our facility looking clean, safe, and well-maintained. This position will have a strong focus on painting, landscaping, groundskeeping, and general upkeep throughout the building and property.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in their work, and can independently complete projects that improve the appearance and overall condition of the facility.
Qualifications:

Previous experience in painting, landscaping, groundskeeping, maintenance, or general handyman work preferred.

Experience with interior and exterior painting, lawn care, and general property upkeep is a plus.

Basic knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and safety practices.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.

Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Must meet health assessment requirements, including two-stage Mantoux skin test.

Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Must be able to communicate in English, verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform required tasks.
Responsibilities:
-
Perform interior and exterior painting, including walls, doors, trim, common areas, and other facility surfaces.

Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, patching, sanding, caulking, and completing minor repairs as needed.

Assist with landscaping and groundskeeping, including mowing, trimming, weeding, planting, mulching, and maintaining flower beds.

Maintain the appearance of outdoor areas, walkways, patios, entrances, and resident outdoor spaces.

Perform seasonal grounds maintenance, including leaf removal, snow and ice removal, and winter preparation.

Assist with general building upkeep and minor repairs throughout the facility.

Help maintain and organize maintenance tools, equipment, paint, landscaping supplies, and other materials.

Identify and report building, grounds, or equipment issues to the Maintenance Director or Administrator.

Follow all facility safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Assist with other maintenance and improvement projects as needed.
