Pay Rate: $27.45-39.81

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, facilities, and supporting systems to ensure safe and reliable operations. This role focuses on the hands-on execution of maintenance activities, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting production needs under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.

The Maintenance Technician works primarily on the production floor and plays a critical role in maintaining equipment uptime, supporting workplace safety, and improving overall plant efficiency.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Technical Support

  • Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, minor electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic automation issues.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist with equipment installations, changeovers, modifications, and upgrades as directed.
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules and complete assigned work orders accurately.
  • Support equipment reliability initiatives to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Assist in troubleshooting recurring equipment failures and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintenance Systems & Documentation

  • Complete maintenance work orders and accurately document repairs, inspections, and parts usage within the CMMS system.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance (PM) activities to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Communicate recurring equipment issues and maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Lead or Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, spare parts, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Assist with maintaining maintenance records, equipment history, and documentation.
  • Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other equipment safety requirements.
  • Comply with OSHA, IOSHA, and environmental regulations.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Participate in safety training, inspections, audits, and corrective action activities as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Teamwork & Continuous Improvement

  • Work collaboratively with maintenance technicians, production operators, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Follow direction from the Maintenance Manager.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, and maintenance processes.
  • Assist with implementing best practices related to equipment care and maintenance.
  • Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification, vocational training, or trade school education preferred.
  • One to three years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automated equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance instructions, equipment manuals, and basic mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Experience using CMMS systems or willingness to learn.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, dust, noise, and moving equipment.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, overtime, weekends, and respond to emergency maintenance situations or oncall requirements as business needs require.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work in confined spaces throughout the shift.

  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to work at varying heights and around moving machinery.
  • Ability to identify visual and auditory equipment alarms and operational issues.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environments with exposure to heat, dust, noise, and vibration.
