Duties

- Install, configure, and test electrical security systems such as alarm & access control systems, CCTV cameras, and intercoms in accordance with electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Perform routine maintenance and proactive troubleshooting on low-voltage electrical wiring, cabling, and computer hardware components within security systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to system design, equipment malfunction, or network connectivity to minimize downtime.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics to accurately wire low-voltage electrical systems and integrate door security system components.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support remotely or on-site for physical security system issues involving surveillance cameras, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), sensors, or telecommunication equipment.
- Conduct site surveys to assess security needs; recommend appropriate system upgrades or modifications based on construction plans or client requirements.
- Document all service activities; communicate effectively with clients to explain system functions or troubleshooting steps.

Skills

- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using power tools and hand tools for installation and repair tasks.
- Strong understanding of computer networking principles relevant to security system connectivity and remote access software.
- Experience with surveillance equipment including CCTV installation, camera calibration, and surveillance system troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems, wiring techniques, cabling practices, and electrical blueprint reading.
- Familiarity with alarm & access control systems integration including door security system integration and remote management capabilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues related to IDS components, telecommunication devices, or power supplies effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate technical information clearly while maintaining professional relationships with clients.
- Construction experience is a plus for understanding site-specific installation challenges; familiarity with schematics enhances precision in system design.
