Hiring Pay Range: $18.38 to $22.98 Per Hour

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime)

Position Summary:

Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks including maintenance of all park facilities, janitorial duties, restroom cleaning is a must, trash pickup, weeding, raking, painting, and special events preparation and other duties as required. Incumbents receive general supervision from a Lead Maintenance Technician, Coordinator or Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 17 years old at the time of hire and possess a valid Arizona driver's license. Must be able to perform physical work outdoors under all weather conditions. Evening, weekend and holiday work may be required depending on special events.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Skill in performing grounds/facilities maintenance and landscaping tasks
  • Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
  • Skill in using hand and power tools to maintain/repair buildings and facilities
  • Skill in following oral and written instructions
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the general public and City employees contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to clearly, concisely and effectively communicate in person and over the telephone. Ability to effectively and safely perform required duties and to safely operate required equipment and city vehicle as needed.

Successful candidate will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include:
