CNC and Controls Maintenance Specialist
Job Description
Job Description Step into a day on our maintenance team
The shop floor hums in an air‑conditioned environment as you move from one precision machine to the next. One hour you’re chasing an intermittent fault on an Allen‑Bradley CompactLogix controller; the next, you’re setting up an AC variable frequency drive to bring a spindle back to life. You rely on your test equipment, your eye for schematics, and your grounded understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and HVAC utilities to keep production flowing.
What you’ll tackle
- Keep CNC equipment operating at peak performance through installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Service industrial electronic and control systems and related equipment, diagnosing issues and restoring functionality.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot DC and AC variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Diagnose and repair programmable logic controllers, including Allen‑Bradley SLC‑500 and CompactLogix platforms.
- Leverage appropriate test equipment to validate, isolate, and resolve faults.
- Interpret mechanical prints/drawings and electrical line diagrams/relay logic to plan and execute work.
- Support plant utilities and supporting systems: air compressors; pneumatic and hydraulic circuits; chilled‑water loops; and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
Note: This summary isn’t exhaustive; you may be assigned other related duties as needed.
What you bring
- Hands‑on skill with DC and AC VFD setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair PLCs such as Allen‑Bradley SLC‑500 and CompactLogix.
- Comfort using electrical/electronic test instruments to diagnose issues.
- Working knowledge of air compressors, pneumatics, hydraulics, chilled water, and HVAC systems/equipment.
- Fluency reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, including relay logic.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of prior industrial maintenance experience.
Work environment
