Job Description

Northbrook Rehabilitation Centre is actively hiring a Maintenance Assistant to support building safety, preventative maintenance, and daily facility operations. The Maintenance Assistant plays an important role in helping maintain a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. As a Maintenance Assistant, reliability, responsiveness, and attention to detail are essential to daily success.

Schedule and Employment Type

Full-Time Days (8AM - 4:30PM)

Key Responsibilities

Assist with routine maintenance tasks and general facility upkeep
Respond to maintenance requests and work orders
Assist with basic repairs and preventative maintenance activities
Monitor building areas, equipment, and facility conditions
Identify and report maintenance, safety, and environmental concerns
Assist with routine inspections to help keep the facility safe and operational
Support maintenance projects and facility improvement activities
Assist with maintaining clean, safe, and organized work areas
Follow safety standards, infection control procedures, and facility policies
Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance tasks as needed
Work with the maintenance team to respond promptly to facility needs
Support a safe, comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors

Qualifications

Maintenance, facilities, construction, or building operations experience preferred
Basic knowledge of building systems, tools, and equipment preferred
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Reliable, dependable, and responsive
Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks safely
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to maintaining a safe and well-maintained environment
