Job DescriptionMaintenance Supervisor – Staybridge SuitesThe Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance and engineering operations of Staybridge Suites while ensuring compliance with IHG brand standards, safety requirements, and property operating procedures. This position supervises maintenance personnel, coordinates contractors and vendors, and ensures the hotel remains safe, reliable, efficient, and guest-ready.Responsibilities include assigning and completing daily work orders, supervising maintenance staff, inspecting completed repairs, establishing daily priorities, and maintaining an effective preventive maintenance program for guest suites, public areas, mechanical rooms, pool facilities, exterior areas, and back-of-house operations. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with the Area Chief Engineer and hotel departments to resolve maintenance concerns quickly while minimizing disruptions to guests and hotel operations.The position performs and oversees troubleshooting and repairs involving HVAC and VTAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, domestic hot water systems, pumps, motors, appliances, locks, and building controls. Due to the extended-stay environment, responsibilities also include maintaining in-suite refrigerators, dishwashers, garbage disposals, cooktops, microwaves, and other kitchen equipment. The supervisor ensures out-of-order rooms and equipment deficiencies are addressed promptly to maximize room availability.The Maintenance Supervisor conducts routine property and guest-suite inspections, identifies deficiencies, and ensures corrective actions are completed promptly. The position coordinates required testing and inspections for fire alarms, sprinkler systems, elevators, backflow prevention devices, pool equipment, emergency systems, and other regulated building systems while maintaining accurate documentation.Additional responsibilities include coordinating outside contractors, obtaining and reviewing proposals, maintaining parts, tools, and equipment inventories, controlling maintenance expenses, monitoring utility consumption, and assisting the Area Chief Engineer with capital projects, equipment replacement, budgeting, and property improvement initiatives. The supervisor communicates equipment failures, recurring maintenance concerns, safety issues, and recommended corrective actions to hotel leadership.The Maintenance Supervisor trains and supports maintenance team members, promotes accountability and quality workmanship, monitors productivity, and ensures proper completion of assigned tasks. The position promotes safe work practices and ensures compliance with OSHA requirements, local codes, IHG standards, and applicable regulations. Strong leadership, mechanical troubleshooting, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are required. The position also responds to emergency maintenance situations affecting guest safety, comfort, property condition, or hotel operations.
