Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of mechanical and electrical duties to set up, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment in a high-volume industrial environment. This role ensures equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently by following established preventive and productive maintenance systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment to support continuous and efficient operations.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance on industrial equipment, including conveyors and related systems.
  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting, including work on three-phase power systems, to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure consistent and safe operation.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) tasks according to established PM schedules and maintenance procedures.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential problems and address them before they cause downtime.
  • Support robotics and automated systems by assisting with troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs as needed.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support maintenance planning and reliability improvements.
  • Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to minimize equipment downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic systems.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of industrial plant maintenance experience in any industry.
  • Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance skills, including repair and setup of industrial equipment and conveyors.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and executing PM schedules.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems.
  • Industrial electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with three-phase power.
  • Experience performing maintenance repair on production and facility equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Commitment to working safely and following established maintenance and safety processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in just-in-time (JIT) assembly environments.
  • Experience in seating manufacturing or similar assembly operations.
  • Experience in the automotive industry or automotive manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and basic PLC troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with robotics in a production setting.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation and integrated mechanical/electrical systems.

Work Environment

This role is based in a modern industrial plant focused on assembling seats and related components. The facility has been in operation for many years and has recently expanded, adding additional square footage and new production programs. You will work around automated equipment, conveyors, robotics, and a mix of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in a fast-paced production environment. The plant emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork, with structured maintenance processes and a strong focus on continuous improvement.e

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $33.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
