About the Role:

The Government and Commercial Storage Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and optimizing storage solutions for both government and commercial durable goods. This position ensures that inventory is accurately tracked, stored, and distributed in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. The coordinator acts as a liaison between manufacturing, logistics, and client teams to facilitate seamless storage operations and timely delivery. They are responsible for maintaining detailed records, coordinating storage space allocation, and implementing efficient inventory control procedures. Ultimately, this role supports the company’s operational efficiency and customer satisfaction by ensuring that storage processes meet both government contract specifications and commercial client needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in inventory management, warehouse coordination, or storage operations within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Familiarity with government contracting requirements and regulations related to storage and inventory control.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with durable goods manufacturing and government contracts.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP).
  • Knowledge of safety standards and compliance regulations applicable to storage facilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with diverse teams and external clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the storage of durable goods for government and commercial clients, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, logistics, and procurement teams to schedule and optimize storage space and inventory flow.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, storage locations, and movement of goods using inventory management systems.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of storage facilities to ensure safety, security, and quality standards are upheld.
  • Communicate with government agencies and commercial clients to address storage-related inquiries, resolve issues, and provide status updates.
  • Develop and implement storage procedures and best practices to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Prepare reports on storage utilization, inventory discrepancies, and compliance for internal and external stakeholders.
