Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Strategy & Planning
    • Develop and execute preventative/predictive maintenance programs for crushers, conveyors, screens, wash plants, mobile support fleets, and shop facilities.
    • Oversee daily/weekly/monthly workloads and schedules to align with production needs and minimize downtime.
    • Coordinate work orders, inspections, repairs, and downtime minimization strategies.
  • Parts Inventory Management
    • Maintain inventory of critical spare and repair parts (bearings, idlers, pulleys, crusher liners, belts, filters, hydraulic components).
    • Set optimal reorder points, issue purchase orders, liaise with external suppliers, and expedite emergency parts.
    • Track part usage and reconcile procurement documentation (purchase orders, credit card reconciliations)
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Direct, coach, and mentor a diverse maintenance team—including maintenance technicians, plant operators, and field personnel.
    • Recruit, train, and cultivate talent with safety and technical development at the forefront.
  • Safety, Compliance & Culture
    • Own safety initiatives: lead by example in safety meetings, reinforce MSHA compliance, and uphold our core values of Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Safety and Excellence.
  • Equipment Performance & Reliability
    • Track KPIs on equipment availability, downtime, work order backlog, and maintenance cost efficiency.
    • Lead root-cause analyses, long-lead repairs, shutdowns, and capital upgrade projects.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of service records, repair history, parts usage, and maintenance costs.
  • Budget & Vendor Management
    • Manage maintenance budgets, parts inventory, and external service contracts, optimizing resource allocation.
    • Partner with vendors to procure parts and align with production standards.
  • Continuous Improvement & Excellence
    • Champion excellence by identifying operational and maintenance improvements.
    • Implement feedback loops from Quality Control and Operations to refine maintenance standards.
    • Proactively recommend process, equipment, and sourcing initiatives to improve reliability and reduce cost.
