LearningWorks After School Teaching Site Coordinator
Location: Biddeford ME (in person only) Biddeford Intermediate School Ages 3&4
Schedule: Part time (20 hours) M-TH 12:00pm-5:00pm with some flexibility.
Compensation: $28.67
Start Date August 31 end date June 4th , continued employment for the summer

About LearningWorks After School (LWAS) LearningWorks Afterschool (LWAS) provides high-quality academic intervention and enrichment programming for elementary students. LWAS partners with local school districts to help students strengthen foundational literacy and mathematics skills, improve school engagement, and develop the social-emotional skills necessary for long-term academic success.
LearningWorks Afterschool is funded primarily through 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grants and is delivered in partnership with local school districts.
Position Overview
The Teaching Site Coordinator (TSC) is responsible for coordinating and leading the daily operation of an afterschool program that combines targeted academic instruction, enrichment experiences, and positive development. The TSC serves as both an instructional leader and site manager, supervising program staff, maintaining strong communication with families and school partners, and ensuring students experience a safe and engaging learning environment.
Outside of program hours, additional time is dedicated to planning, staff meetings, professional development, family engagement, and administrative oversight.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate the daily operation of a four-day-per-week afterschool program serving elementary students
- Create a structured learning environment that promotes academic growth, positive behavior, and social-emotional development
- Assist with student recruitment, enrollment, and registration processes
- Coordinate all aspects of programing including instruction, transportation and nutrition
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and school partners
- Monitor and support student attendance to meet program participation goals established through grant requirements
- Assist Afterschool Directors with curriculum planning, activity scheduling, and continuous program improvement.

Qualifications
- BA or BS in education or related field
- State of Maine Teaching Certification (preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership experience in an education setting
- Minimum three years of teaching experience with elementary students (preferred)
- Experience with diverse communities and low-performing populations (preferred)
- Strong technology skills including Google Workspace
- Flexibility, creativity, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to analyze student progress data and use it to inform instruction
- Transferable skills and qualifications will be considered
