Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, Must have GREAT attendance. Job will be outdoors on a construction site.
Job Description:
The Gate Attendant monitors access to an active construction area, opens and closes gates for vehicles and employees, and guides pedestrians and cyclists to ensure they do not enter restricted zones. This role focuses on safety, clear communication, and courteous interaction with the public in an outdoor environment.
Responsibilities
- Open and close gates for employees, trucks, and delivery vehicles in a timely and safe manner.
- Monitor access points to ensure only authorized vehicles and individuals enter the construction area.
- Direct pedestrians and bikers away from the construction zone and guide them safely through designated public paths.
- Provide clear and polite instructions to the public to prevent unauthorized entry into restricted areas.
- Maintain awareness of ongoing construction activities and adjust gate operations to support safe movement around the site.
- Observe and report any unusual activity or safety concerns to the appropriate site personnel.
- Support general site safety by helping to keep access points organized and free of obstructions.
- Deliver consistent customer service to employees, drivers, and members of the public approaching the gate.
Essential Skills
- Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Customer service skills, including clear communication and a polite, professional demeanor.
- Ability to remain attentive and focused while monitoring gate access and surrounding activity.
- Basic understanding of safety practices in or around construction environments.
- Reliability and punctuality to cover scheduled gate hours consistently.
- Experience in security, gatehouse, or access control roles.
- Experience in general labor, particularly on construction or solar construction sites.
- Comfort interacting with the public in a busy outdoor environment.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Albuquerque, NM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
