Job Description Position Summary
Doctor’s Data, Inc. (DDI) is seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities Assistant to support the day-to-day maintenance, cleanliness, organization, and functionality of our facility.
This part-time position performs a variety of facilities support duties, including waste removal, general maintenance, cleaning, stocking supplies, and assisting with organization and logistical needs throughout the building. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, comfortable performing physical work, and able to work independently while supporting employees throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Collect and dispose of general facility and laboratory waste.
- Perform daily laboratory trash removal.
- Break down cardboard boxes and empty bins containing discarded ice packs.
- Collect, organize, and prepare biohazard waste for scheduled Stericycle pickup according to established procedures.
- Perform general facility maintenance and minor repairs.
- Monitor and assist with routine facility equipment and systems, including the water system, water softener, and air compressor.
- Transport and load 40-pound bags of salt for the water softener.
- Perform assigned cleaning tasks within laboratory and facility areas, including floors beneath counters and sinks.
- Maintain shredding boxes and move full boxes to the designated pickup area.
- Maintain and stock housekeeping supplies.
- Sweep and maintain the loading dock area.
- Assist with organization of storage rooms and other facility spaces.
- Move supplies, equipment, and other materials as needed.
- Organize scrap materials and waste.
- Assist with special facilities and logistical projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, construction, custodial work, warehouse operations, or a related field preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use common tools.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good time-management and organizational skills.
- Dependable and able to work independently.
- Professional and courteous when interacting with employees throughout the organization.
Physical Requirements
This is an active position requiring regular physical activity throughout the workday.
- Frequent standing, reaching, handling, and use of hands.
- Walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials throughout the facility.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving of items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to move 40-pound bags of water-softener salt.
- Ability to climb ladders and safely operate basic tools and facility equipment.

Work Environment
Work is performed throughout the facility and may include laboratory support areas, utility areas, storage spaces, warehouse areas, and the loading dock. The employee may occasionally work around moving mechanical equipment, cleaning products or chemicals, and moderate noise.
