Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Janitor/Cleaner to join our facilities maintenance team. This role is essential in ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall upkeep of our commercial and residential spaces. The ideal candidate will be committed to maintaining a safe, hygienic environment by performing cleaning duties with precision and professionalism. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained facility that promotes health, safety, and comfort for all occupants.
Pay: $15.00
Shifts available: 5am-130pm,12p-830 pm or 5pm-130am
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal across various areas
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and pressure washers to maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Handle chemical agents safely in accordance with chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation protocols
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of cleaning supplies, furniture, and equipment following safe lifting practices
- Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and proper floor care techniques to ensure durability and appearance
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting repairs or safety hazards promptly
- Follow safety protocol adherence at all times to ensure a secure working environment for self and others
Experience
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, custodial equipment operation, and sanitation standards
- Familiarity with chemical handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning agents
- Experience with floor care including buffing and maintenance of various flooring types
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently
- Customer service skills beneficial for interacting professionally with building occupants or clients
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or porter roles is advantageous
