Pay: $78,000 - $84,000

Shift: 5:00 PM – 3:00 AM

Schedule: Monday–Friday (occasional Saturdays based on production needs). Supervisors arrive 30 minutes early and stay 30 minutes after shift for handoff/communication.

Position Summary:

\n

Seeking a 2nd Shift Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of maintenance technicians in a highly automated Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, driving preventive maintenance execution, and supporting production uptime on a fast-paced welded assembly operation. The supervisor will provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and technical support while overseeing a team of approximately 8 technicians. Strong robotics troubleshooting (Fanuc and Motoman) and an automotive manufacturing background are essential for success in this role.

Position Responsibilities:

\n

    \n
  • Provide direct leadership and supervision of hourly skilled trades maintenance technicians on 2nd shift
  • \n

  • Support and enforce plant priorities related to safety, quality, production, and delivery performance
  • \n

  • Maintain and repair automated production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency
  • \n

  • Plan, manage, and ensure completion of preventive maintenance schedules and work orders (MLS system)
  • \n

  • Assign, prioritize, and communicate daily work instructions and shift expectations to the maintenance team
  • \n

  • Drive accountability, discipline, and performance standards across the team
  • \n

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and development of maintenance technicians, including training and onboarding support
  • \n

  • Participate in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving (e.g., downtime, 8D, corrective actions)
  • \n

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices
  • \n

  • Track, monitor, and support departmental KPIs tied to business goals (safety, quality, productivity, uptime)
  • \n

  • Ensure compliance with TS 16949 and ISO 14001 standards
  • \n

  • Ensure all safety procedures, PPE usage, and OSHA requirements are followed and enforced
  • \n

  • Maintain strong communication through shift handoffs and daily shift-to-shift updates
  • \n

  • Support engineering changes, new job set-ups, and production changes as needed
  • \n

  • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure a safe, organized work environment
  • \n

Position Requirements:

\n

    \n
  • Minimum 6 years of maintenance supervisory experience preferred
  • \n

  • Strongly considering a Journeyman or Maintenance Lead/Lead Technician with 3+ years of leadership experience and a proven track record of leading maintenance teams
  • \n

  • Automotive manufacturing experience required (Tier 1 or high-volume production strongly preferred)
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including assembly and automated systems (welded assembly preferred)
  • \n

  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with industrial equipment and automation
  • \n

  • Robotics experience required (Fanuc and/or Motoman strongly preferred)
  • \n

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • \n

  • Experience with preventive maintenance systems and CMMS/ERP tools (QAD, SAP, Plex, or similar)
  • \n

  • Working knowledge of TS 16949 and ISO 14001 standards
  • \n

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop hourly skilled trades teams
  • \n

  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis (8D or similar)
  • \n

  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
  • \n

  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • \n

  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred
  • \n

  • High school diploma required; technical degree or journeyman certification preferred
