Job Title: Machine Repair Technician
Job Description
- This role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting heavy stamping presses and supporting welding and robotic equipment
- You will work primarily in the stamping area, performing mechanical, hydraulic, and welding repairs, and supporting automation systems to keep production running safely and efficiently
Job Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical repair and maintenance on transfer and progressive stamping presses ranging from 400 to 2,000 tons, including Danley and Ravne brands
- Diagnose and repair brakes, clutches, gears, and bearings on stamping presses and related equipment
- Use a 40-foot man lift to access and perform brake and clutch adjustments at the top of the presses, following all safety procedures
- Conduct hydraulic system repairs, including replacement of hydraulic motors, pumps, and hoses
- Perform MIG and stick welding to repair and maintain equipment and components in the stamping area
- Collaborate with weld technicians who handle most robot-related issues, and support heavier-duty mechanical and hydraulic repairs when machine repair is called in
Essential Skills
- Strong mechanical repair and maintenance skills, specifically on heavy industrial equipment such as stamping presses
- Proven experience replacing brakes, clutches, gears, and bearings on large mechanical systems
- Hands-on experience working with hydraulic systems, including hydraulic motors, pumps, and hoses
- Ability to perform MIG and stick welding for equipment repair and fabrication
- Comfort and competence using a 40-foot man lift to perform adjustments and repairs at height
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and hydraulic issues in a fast-paced production environment
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Royal Oak, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.05 - $34.05/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
