The Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of facilities maintenance tasks across the main building, machine shop, and satellite facility. This role supports repairs, renovations, and upkeep of the company’s buildings and industrial equipment, working closely with a lead technician to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform facilities maintenance work throughout the main building, machine shop, and satellite facility.
  • Work alongside a lead technician to assist with a variety of projects, repairs, and renovations across all facilities.
  • Apply strong rough and finish carpentry skills to construct, install, and repair structures, fixtures, and building components.
  • Support basic plumbing tasks, including troubleshooting and repairing minor plumbing issues as needed.
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of electrical lighting systems throughout the facility.
  • Help maintain and repair various industrial equipment and systems in the machine shop and other areas.
  • Use a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and saws safely and effectively to complete maintenance and construction tasks.
  • Perform general construction and repair work, including painting and other finishing activities to keep facilities in good condition.
  • Contribute to machine maintenance activities within the machine shop as directed by the lead technician.
  • Follow safety procedures and best practices while working with tools, machinery, and building systems.
  • Support ongoing facility expansion and renovation projects as the company builds out additional space.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a facilities technician, maintenance technician, or mechanic.
  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance across building and industrial environments.
  • Strong rough and finish carpentry skills, including construction, installation, and repair work.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing systems and the ability to assist with plumbing repairs.
  • Basic understanding of electrical lighting systems and the ability to assist with troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Experience working in construction-related roles or environments.
  • Ability to perform machine maintenance tasks in a machine shop setting.
  • Proficiency in using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and saws safely and effectively.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds as part of daily job duties.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a facilities technician role within a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Background in HVAC, with the ability to support basic heating and cooling system maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with painting and other facility finishing work.
  • Comfort working in a large, multi-shift facility with industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed to support facility operations and projects.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to take direction from a lead technician.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Work Environment

This role operates on a first shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in a machine shop environment that is not temperature controlled. The facility is approximately 70,000 square feet and supports around 240 employees across multiple shifts. Work takes place in and around industrial equipment, building systems, and active production areas, with frequent movement between the main building, machine shop, and satellite facility. The company is in the process of building out a new facility, providing exposure to expansion and construction activities. Appropriate work attire is required to ensure safety and comfort in an industrial, non-climate-controlled setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Wales, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
