OVERVIEW:
The property maintenance employee is responsible for oversight of the maintenance program at Cheyenne Village (CV). The individual will be responsible for, but not limited to electrical, plumbing, heating and some landscaping at our properties. The property maintenance employee has professional experience in property management and maintenance, and a flexible schedule to respond to emergencies as they arise.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance in several houses that CV owns, to include replacing furnace filters, making sure all smoke and CO2 detectors are functioning properly, outlet covers that are cracked or broken are replaced, chipped doors and walls are repaired and painted, yard fencing pickets replaced as needed and gates are functioning properly.
- On occasion, you will troubleshoot repairs for various household appliances such as dishwashers, washing machines, dryers & garage doors.
- You will diagnose plumbing issues and troubleshoot solutions and fixes to remedy the problem.
- Diagnose and repair problems with building heat, electricity, and water systems on occasion and/or work closely with contractors for larger issues.
- Cleaning, repairing and painting bedrooms and bathrooms when needed or when we have a client vacancy.
- Ensure that properties are safe, secure and void of any potential hazards.
- Perform general roofing fixes as needed as well as assure all house gutters are clear of debris and operating properly. Assure all window well covers are intact and replaced as necessary.
- Purchases routine supplies for completion of tasks when necessary and has an office and full garage workshop to work out of.
- Performs all other job duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
You will work inside and outside of CV. You will be around individuals with intellectually and developmentally disabled and staff. You will on occasion be exposed to the weather when reporting to any of the properties for maintenance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Move about from location to location. Exerts force and/or lifts or carries up to 10 pounds constantly, 10-20 pounds frequently and 20-50 pounds occasionally. Ability to use hand and power tools.
COMPENSATION
STATUS: Non-Exempt
PAY TYPE: Hourly, Monday-Friday 8 hour shifts.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
General handy person knowledge of carpentry, plumbing &home maintenance repairs. Minimum three years job related experience. High school graduate or GED certificate. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and e-mail. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
