The Multi-craft Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and production support equipment. This position requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
  • Install, maintain, and repair motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and other industrial equipment.
  • Maintain and repair equipment such as hoists, cranes, presses, mills, lathes, and CNC lasers.
  • Maintain and repair variable frequency drives (VFDs), sensors, controls, and instrumentation.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and machining activities when required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and production efficiency.
  • Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Comply with all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental regulations.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and plant improvement projects.
  • Participate in emergency maintenance response and rotating on-call schedules.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems up to 480V.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar systems).
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical power transmission systems.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and maintenance tools.
  • Basic computer skills and CMMS experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical degree, maintenance certification, or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Nice to have previous experience with metal manufacturing or forming equipment.

Work Environment

The position requires working shifts from 10:30 pm to 7:00 am, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime on weekends. Training will be conducted during the day shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm for approximately 4-8 weeks. Work attire includes jeans or work pants and short or long-sleeved shirts, with steel-toed boots, hearing, and eye protection required for safety. The plant is currently non-temperature controlled, with plans to fully air-condition within the next year. The facility has over 20 CNC workstations and more than 40 welding bays, with large fans at each workstation to ensure comfort.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $67659.00/yr.
