Maintenance Lead — Direct Hire — $28–$32/hr
Elgin, IL | 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM | Direct Hire
Are you a hands-on maintenance pro who's comfortable troubleshooting machines and keeping production running? A metal manufacturing company in the northwest suburbs is looking for a Maintenance Lead to join their team on a direct-hire basis.
This is a great fit for someone who takes pride in keeping equipment running, enjoys variety day to day, and wants to be part of a stable, growing manufacturing team.
What You'll Do:
- Inspect machinery and equipment to keep operations safe and running smoothly
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs) on a set schedule
- Troubleshoot and repair production machinery and shop equipment
- Support other areas of the shop floor as production needs shift
- Read shop drawings and use basic math for maintenance and production tasks
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, tool and die, or a similar manufacturing environment
- Hands-on machine repair and maintenance experience, including PMIs
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read shop drawings
- Good communication skills and basic math ability
- High school diploma or equivalent (trade school or technical degree a plus)
Nice to Have:
- Prior lead or supervisory experience
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
