About the Role

Buffalo Solar is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Solar Interconnection & Battery Storage Coordinator to manage utility interconnection applications for commercial rooftop solar and battery energy storage projects. This role serves as the company's subject matter expert for battery energy storage systems while coordinating with utilities, engineering, project management, and project delivery to keep projects moving efficiently toward Permission to Operate (PTO).

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, managing complex documentation, and working in a collaborative team environment.

As Buffalo Solar continues to grow, this position is expected to evolve into a leadership role overseeing interconnection strategy, battery storage integration, and utility coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage commercial solar and battery storage utility interconnection applications.
  • Coordinate with electric utilities throughout the interconnection process.
  • Track application status, utility requirements, and project milestones.
  • Coordinate engineering revisions and respond to utility requests for information.
  • Support CESIR studies, supplemental reviews, witness testing, meter exchanges, and Permission to Operate (PTO).
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and utility correspondence.
  • Serve as Buffalo Solar's internal resource for commercial battery energy storage systems.
  • Stay current on utility requirements, battery storage technologies, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial solar, battery storage, electrical construction, utility coordination, engineering support, or technical project coordination.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency; Excel experience preferred.
  • Experience with New York utility interconnection processes is a plus.
